Nestled on the back slopes of Table Mountain and the Constantiaberg mountain range Constantia enjoys a wonderful climate and stunning views.
The beautiful Constantia valley is home to some of the finest wine estates in South Africa due to the ideal weather conditions. A varied selection of the worlds most famous wines are produced on the five Constantia wine estates which date back to the 18th century when the first governor of the Cape, Simon van der Sel chose this land to cultivate the first grapes.
Just a few minutes from Constantia are the renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens left to the state by Cecil Rhodes in 1902. Situated on the sheltered hills above Constantia are over 20,000 native South African plant species which are collected grown and cultivated for the benefit of visitors.
Constantia boasts some of the most gracious and elegant homes in the Cape. Most are situated in large, well established gardens along oak lined avenues. This unique, fertile valley with its breathtaking mountain views attracts walkers, horse riders, golfers and holiday makers and yet is only 20 minutes from central Cape Town.
